As a Daisy Girl Scout, the girls will have the opportunity to earn 10 petals, 4 leaves and the center of the flower. Each Petal representing a different part of the Girl Scout Law. Today’s post is about the Considerate and Caring law. There is no right or wrong way to approach teaching your girls about the law to earn the petal, but for me I always try to follow the following pattern
- Practice the Law
- Be Creative (Law Craft)
- Have some fun (Game related to law)
- Put the Law into action
- Optionally: If I have a song that relates to the law we will sing that as well.
In the Girl Scout Leader guide book it doesn’t give much in way of requirements for Daisy Girl Scouts, even though the Girl Scout guide book does not call for a specific number of things the girls have to complete to earn the petal I follow the above pattern with each of the petals. I feel by doing multiple activities for each law it will help the girls to remember the values and laws they learned.
Before going into some ideas you can do with your girls at your next Girl Scout meeting I want to quickly share some exciting news that Girl Scout Leader Connect will be releasing a brand new product, Daisy Girl Scout PETAL FAIRIES: GARDEN ADVENTURE in August of 2017, just in time for the new Girl Scout year to begin. Learn more about the kit that will have everything you need to earn the petals and be the first to be notified when it is available.

Kindness Challenge Bingo
This is a great way for girls to take what they learn about being Considerate and Caring and continue throughout the week after leaving meet. Have their parents help keep track of all the kindness items they complete during week. Bring back to meeting and have girls discuss what acts of kindness they completed that week. Anyone get a BINGO or fill their card?

DAISY HAPPY FACE SONG
Tune- Brownie Smile
I’ve something in my little hand That you just cannot see…
It’s very, very special And it’s now a part of me.
The Daisy Girl Scouts showed me How to put it into place…
And when I clap my little hands You’ll see my HAPPY FACE!
Motions: I’ve something… Cup both hands together, palms together
It’s very… Bring cupped hands to chest over heart
The Daisy… Open hands and cover face with open hands
when I clap… clap your hands
HAPPY FACE… Everyone give a very happy face.
